Poems Against Horse Slaughter « Thread Started on Aug 10, 2007, 8:58pm »
For those of you who are against horse slaughter, post all of the poems about horse slaughter here! Whether it's about a horse going to a slaughter house, or horses in one, or just about the horrors of slaughtering horses, write your poems! Attach your poems to the letters or e-mails you send to your congressman. Or even e-mail Terri Farley with your poems. (Try to put ALL of your poems on one e-mail so she doesn't have 5 million e-mails in her Inbox. Email is farleyterri@aol.com) With many poems, she'll probably be able to show other authority figures, like her State Senator, that we really care and we want horse slaughter to stop!

She's longing for flight And knows I'm aware So I loosen the reins And she accepts my dare
Off all at once At a gallop we tear The wind cools our faces And whips at our hair The trees are a blur And the grounds barely there
Day turns to night But we don't really care When we stop time has gone But it's cool and it's fair So we both have a drink At the creek that flows there
It's the nature and nothing And the cool forest air It's time to loose time And the love of a mare
I can almost be lost I can live without care... But sadly I see that Her hoof prints are still there Oh! For a horse that can gallop on air!
